Position Title: Vice President of Operations

Reports To: President & CEO

Position Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

The Vice President of Operations will serve as a key member of the Chamber’s executive leadership team, overseeing the daily operations, strategic implementation, and coordination of partnerships with Paragould Forward, Main Street Paragould and other key development opportunities. This position ensures organizational efficiency, alignment of programs with strategic goals, and effective service delivery to members, investors, and community partners. The VP of Operations will act as the operational backbone of the organization, focusing on collaboration and organizational management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the Chamber, ensuring all programs and initiatives are executed efficiently and effectively.
  • Prepare reports, performance metrics, and updates for the Board, committees and investors.
  • Coordinate with appropriate staff members to ensure successful execution of Chamber programs, networking events, workforce initiative, and community engagement activities.
  • Evaluate and enhance existing programs for impact and member value, while identifying new opportunities for growth and engagement.
  • Coordinate with the Directors of Membership, Workforce, Tourism and Main Street to ensure events and programs support overall community and economic development goals.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of annual budgets and financial performance targets.
  • Collaborate with the CEO to maintain sound financial management practices and ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Support public relations and advocacy efforts by providing data, reports and operational insight as needed.
  • Represent the Chamber in community meetings, committees and partnership discussions as needed.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in organizational operations, management, or chamber/economic development leadership.
  • Proven track record of managing complex projects, budgets, and teams.
  • Experience working with boards, committees, or community organizations.
  • The selected candidate must obtain the Certified Chamber Executive (CCE) designation through the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives and the Professional Community and Economic Developer (PcED) credential within five (5) years of employment.
  • Clear evidence of the candidate’s ability to pass rigorous certification exams – such as prior academic performance, professional certifications, or demonstrated analytical and written communication skills is strongly preferred.

  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities with an emphasis on collaboration and accountability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into operational execution.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven.
  • Financial management and budgeting experience required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM platforms, and project management tools.

Work Environment & Schedule

Full-time position based at the Paragould Regional Chamber of Commerce office.

Regular office hours with occasional evening and weekend commitments for Chamber programs, community events, and board meetings.

Requires local travel within Greene County and occasional regional travel for professional development or partnership meetings.

 

Physical Demands

While this position is primarily performed in an office setting and involves frequent sitting and computer use, the employee must also be able to perform tasks that require physical activity. This includes the ability to:

  • Sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Regularly move about the office and between floors using stairs.
  • Occasionally lift, carry, or move items up to 25 pounds (such as event materials, boxes of files, or promotional items).
  • Use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, and filing systems.
  • Occasionally set up or break down materials for meetings or events.
