Join professional blacksmiths as they recreate some of Arkansas's oldest trades and skills in a live demonstration. There will also be information about how to join the group. BOA aspires to promote the art of blacksmithing to the public and to serve as a center of information about blacksmithing and its tradition.
BOA is coming back to Crowley's Ridge State Park for another great Blacksmithing Demonstration on Saturday, May 4th from 10AM to 3PM.
BOA (Blacksmith Organization of Arkansas), an affiliate of Artist-Blacksmiths Association of North America- ABANA, is a Jonesboro chapter that teaches interested parties about the skills, techniques, and traditions of blacksmithing. They aspire to expose the art of blacksmithing to the public and to serve as a center of information about blacksmithing and its tradition.
Much like the last demonstration, participants will be able to watch and enjoy the art of this historic way of life. There will also be information about how to become a member and forge your own supplies. This demonstration will be free and will last fro 10AM to 3PM. Participants are encouraged to bring a sack lunch and lawn chairs, however some picnic table will be available.
The demonstration will take place net to the restroom on the hill. There will be signs leading to the event.
